RNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement on the memorandum of understanding on the delimitation of maritime jurisdiction areas between Türkiye and Libya.
The statement reads:
“We welcome the decision adopted on 20 October 2026 by the Libyan House of Representatives concerning the Memorandum of Understanding on the Delimitation of Maritime Jurisdiction Areas between our Motherland, the Republic of Türkiye, and Libya, which has been in force since 2019.
We commend this historic step, which is grounded in the principles of international law and equity and reflects the realities in the region.
As the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, we support, in full solidarity, the vision of our Motherland, the Republic of Türkiye, to establish peace, security and stability in the Mediterranean basin”.
